would a dj amplifier work good at powering a subs for home stereo?

i have a kicker solox 18" and want to use it in my home stereo. can i use a 4000 watt dj amp. to power it and hook it up to my subwoofer port on the back of my reciever? do most dj amps come with options to tune which freq, cause i dont want it to play a high freq and blow. anyone know of a good one for around $400?
the sub will be run at 2-ohms mono

well that could work except dj amps are stereo and if you bridge it it would not be stable to 2 ohms, only to 4 ohms (maybe). If it is a dual 4 ohm coil you could run the amp stereo.
